Print media can be an effecitve way of communicating with both your parents and students as we have seen over the course of this semester. We were able to construct flyers, brochures, certificates as well as many others forms of print media. But, I believe that at times this can be something that can end up being very difficult for us as teachers. Finding time during the day to run off important newsletters that have to be passed out to the students is hard enough but also relying on the students to take all of this information home is even more complicating. Another effective way to communicate with parents and students is to create either a classroom website or a class wiki. On either a classwebsite or wiki you can post all of the homework, newsletters, certificates and flyers and make them easily accessible for the parents of the students in your class to read. You would not need to find time to run off copies and you would also be saving on paper for your school district.

Having a classroom website or wiki can be a great way to get important information across to the students and parents. I have used a classroom website to post any upcoming events along with homework or even news in classroom over the past two years. It has been quite effective and this way the information would be able to be seen as often as needed.
